Please note our current class size is a maximum of 5 students. As classes are at capacity any student missing his/her class must understand that make up classes can only be made if room presents itself on another day. Missed classes are not transferable between terms.

Caution: Some medical conditions may exclude you from attending Leadlight Classes, please consult your doctor if you are pregnant, plan to become pregnant or are taking blood thinner medication before enrolling.

Content/Outcomes

Over 8 weeks’ beginners will complete two leadlight projects. Students will learn the particulars of cutting, grinding, leading, soldering and putting together a completed project. Ongoing students will continue to be guided in project of their choice. Please note, students wishing to undertake copper foil or glass mosaic classes are encouraged to complete the leadlight beginners course to cover glass safety and learn cutting skills.

What you will need

In the interest of safety all students will need to bring along safety glasses, leather backed gloves for soldering and wear closed toe footwear. Please also bring along a felt tipped marker. Please see picture for reference.

Student will also need to purchase their own tools to use in class. You will need, a Glass cutter $70.00, Grozers $22.50, Metal running Pliers$35.00, Lead Knife $35.00 and 1 Pack of shoe nails x25pp $10.00. All other tools supplied. A tool kit is available for purchase at Ageless $172.50. See information on our Supplies page.

Cost: The full cost of the course for beginners $400, this cost covers the all materials that will be used in our first two beginners’ projects.

Our ongoing student fee is $400 per term understanding that materials will need to be purchased for your desired projects. Due to a limited class sizes, we ask students to pay a deposit of $100 to secure a place in the class. (This is to prevent people missing out on the class unnecessarily) The balance can be paid in full the night classes commence. Deposits and payments can be made either by EFT or cash.

Private classes in Lead lighting, Copper foil and glass mosaics, Saturdays 9:30am – 11:30am

Content/Outcomes

Limited private classes are available on Saturdays for students who wish to continue to learn or perhaps begin tuition in Lead lighting, Copper foil or glass mosaics. Private classes are limited to 2 students.

What you will need

Student will also need to purchase their own tools to use in class. Cost: Lessons are 2 hours at $60 per hour, $120 will be payable on arrival, payments can be made either by EFT or cash. Materials will be provided for beginners working thier beginners’ project. Advanced students working on independent projects will need to be purchased materials for desired projects.
